A Soft Songbird

Ok, here's something you guys would be amazed by.

Do you think she's some Japanese singer?

She's Hatsune Miku. She's a pop culture icon in Japan,
who has sung over 50 songs in her whole career,
ranging from R&B to Hip-Hop to Trance music.
Think she's extremely talented?

Here's the catch. She's not real.

Yes, you heard me.

She's 100% digital.

Her voice is based on a real person, though.

Miku is one of the avatars for the revolutionary software by Yamaha Music called
Vocaloid. It's been out for quite awhile, you see. The 3rd edition came out not long ago.

Vocaloid is a singing synthesizer application software developed by the Yamaha Corporation that enables users to synthesize singing by just typing in lyrics and the melody.

Many people have claimed this is the future of the music industry. Let's hope there's some hope for all those traditional voice-using singers, eh? =)
